During the 1960s, I began my journey into the world of art through oil painting classes. I discovered that the patterns and forms were endless, expressing myriads of emotions and visions of beauty. I loved the dance of colors as I moved the paint over the canvas bringing images to life.
In the late 1970s, I switched the focus of my creative energies into working with special education students. Upon retirement, in 1999, I began a 5 year project of teaching art history and techniques of the Masters to elementary students, k-6.
In addition to teaching art to the children, I became an art student once again. I took classes in drawing, color theory, watercolor, and oil pastels. I also returned to working with oils. With the oils, I felt my heart open and sing. As the colors flowed over the canvas a story of color, structure and movement were revealed.
I have exhibited on multiple occasions at the St. Claire gallery in El Cajon and the La Jolla Artists Association Gallery in La Jolla. Additionally, my work is shown at San Diego Art Department, Museum of the Living Artist in Balboa Park, Family Superior Court House, El Cajon City Hall, multiple retirement homes throughout San Diego County.
I am a member of the La Jolla Artists Association, the San Diego Museum of Art Artist Guild, the Museum of the Living Artist as well as the Associate Fine Artist of San Diego.
Currently I belong to Fusion Art International working under the guidance of Master Artist Rassouli.
